Be determined as an entrepreneur
Successful entrepreneurs have something special - they have a different approach to self development than most people. The good news is that anyone can learn to think like an entrepreneur, and put these powerful secrets to work in their life, no matter what they do.
In his book About Your Thinking: Where You Stand, entrepreneur and author Clifton Talbert explores exactly what makes successful entrepreneurs successful.
“While these technologies are used, they aim to amplify your true potential, wherever you are, and to bring imagination, ingenuity, adaptability, effort, and assurance where it is important to prevail in your life.” and professional life and the journey of discovery you are on.”
1. self development
You decide which attitudes and perceptions you will carry with you throughout your life, and you are the one who can change them. If your way of thinking - and the work you do - isn't getting you where you want to go, change it.
When you know you want the best, refuse to settle for life and circumstances as they are. As Steve Jobs once said, "The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't tracked it down yet, keep looking. Don't settle."
2. Be determined
Determination is not only the strength, determination and determination to push forward in the face of adversity, it is the strategic preparation for battle and self development.
When you are determined, you are in a position to be firm in your decisions and willing to put in the hard work required to win in everything you do. As venture capitalist Paul Graham said, “The most important quality in an entrepreneur is not intelligence but determination.”
3. Build a solid relationship bridge
Business is about relationships, and building strong relationships is the path to success in both work and life. "The ability to manufacture solid joints is essential to tolerance and development.
Successful business people are great at building relationships," says Talbert. They are skilled at keeping and growing them for long periods of time.
4. Slow down to lead
Business moves faster than ever, but great leadership means slowing down to take the time to focus on doing the things most important to your success.
Specifically, this means acknowledging and appreciating the people you will meet in your work and personal life, and bringing them with you on your journey. You have a lot to learn from others, just as they can learn a lot from you. As Richard Branson said, "others have opinions."
5. Know the metrics for the "health" of your business
Despite the popular image of the businessman who achieves great things by the strength of his charisma, or who wins the seat of his pants, this image is not entirely accurate.
The most successful entrepreneurs know what makes their organizations tick, and they monitor the metrics closely—making quick improvements where needed.
6. Be prepared to float upstream
Nobody ever said finding success in work and life would be easy, and honestly, it's not. There may be times when you can go with the flow, but often you will find that you have to swim against the tide to achieve great things.
Not only that, but you may have to change direction several times throughout your life - changing strategies, jobs, and even life. Never give up, keep fighting. As Nelson Mandela said, "It always seems impossible until it's done."
7. Determination to succeed
Know that you can succeed (you can!), and then invest all your energy in it. Once we decide ourselves - and really decide ourselves - to achieve something, nothing can stop us. Understand this secret and you will find the success you seek.
